Why this Process?
Is creativity learned or is it in our DNA?  I don’t know, but for me it’s definitely a way of thinking.  When I look at some broken or battered piece of furniture I see what it used to be and what it could be now.  The same is true for a piece of fabric or a skein of yarn.  I see the possibilities.

When I’m in the planning stage I think about what colors the recipient would like.  It helps me to stay out of the rut of making only what appeals to me.  When I’m making something, I try to consciously think good thoughts about the person that will receive it.  I like to think the ‘love’ goes with it.

My goal is for whatever I make to be different from the mass produced and disposable.  My wish is for whatever I make to be meaningful enough that it will be cherished, and quality enough to be passed on years from now.  That being said I occasionally like to make things that have no other reason for being except for the fun of it, the spice of life so to speak, which has its own value.  Besides, I have to leave the door open to the variety because the possibilities are limitless!
